PROGRAMS

Morgan's Gymnastics Academy offers a wide variety of programs so that your child may benefit from a class that is more specifically designed with their abilities and skill sets in mind.

Mom & Me Classes

MGA's Mom & Me classes will teach your toddler many skills such as forward and backward rolls, donkey kicks, jumps, positions, and terminology.  Like our preschool program, we also include exercises for your child's gross and fine motor skill development and hand-eye coordination. All four events are incorporated into our lesson plans for Mom & Me. Classes are 40 minutes long and meet once a week. This class is for ages 15 months - 3 years.

Preschool Classes

MGA's Preschool classes teach your child basic skills such as handstands, cartwheels, forward and backward rolls, splits, jumps, positions, and terminology.  We also include exercises for your child's gross motor skills and hand-eye coordination.  The following four events are included in MGA's Preschool lesson plans:  vault, bars, beam, and floor.  Classes are one hour, once a week.

Beginner Classes

MGA's Beginner classes teach your child the basic skills needed to progress in our gymnastics program, such as handstands, cartwheels, round-offs, forward and backward rolls, splits, positions, and terminology.  The following four events are included in MGA's Beginner lesson plans:  vault, bars, beam, and floor.  Classes are one hour, once a week.

Hotshots Classes

MGA's Hotshots classes are for children ages 3-6 years old.  These classes are *by invitation only and are for gymnasts who are still at a preschool age but are more advanced than the average preschooler.  These classes are an hour and a half long, once a week.  These are intermediate to advanced level classes.  All four events (vault, bars, beam, floor) are included in the Hotshots classes, and more time is allowed to work on each of these events.  The skills checklist is longer for Hotshots classes and things become a little more difficult.  The lesson plans for Hotshots classes are very similar to an intermediate lesson plan, yet they are specifically designed for children six and under.

Intermediate Classes

MGA's Intermediate classes are *by invitation only and are for children who have completed the skills checklist for a beginner class.  An Intermediate class takes your child to a higher level in gymnastics as far as skills are concerned.  The shills checklist becomes longer, and more difficult skills are added to the lesson plans.  All four events (vault, bars, beam, floor) are also included in the Intermediate classes, with more emphasis on each skill.  Intermediate classes are an hour and a half long, once a week.

Advanced Classes

MGA's Advanced classes are *by invitation only. These classes are for gymnasts who have completed both the beginner and intermediate checklists.  More emphasis and work are involved on each of the four events (vault, bars, beam, floor), and body conditioning as well as numerous drills are added to the lesson plans.  You can choose from either a two or four hour Advanced class, once a week.

All-Star Team Program

MGA’s All-Star Teams are not your average competitive team. These teams are geared for gymnasts between the ages of 5 and 13, which are interested in being a part of a specialty team. Gymnasts that are interested will be evaluated once a year, at our Team Tryouts, and will be placed on a suitable team depending on their gymnastics abilities. Teams will practice one to two days weekly, receive a team leotard, a gym bag, a t-shirt, as well as perform in two meets yearly. These meets are fun based, which means scores don’t matter, everyone receives a medal and certificate, and all of the gymnasts will walk away feeling great for the accomplishments they have made. All-Star Team gymnasts must attend year around and placement onto an All-Star Team is *by invitation only!

*By Invitation only implies that certain skill sets and requirements must be met before advancement.
